DISTRIBUTION ARRANGEMENTS IN EXPORT MARKETS

There are several alternative methods by which the ONLINE MARKETING Manager may distribute his product overseas. In deciding upon the most suitable channel to use, he will need to consider the size of the market he proposes to enter and its characteristics, the nature of his product and the size of his own company organization. It will be obvious that different methods of approach are required according to the above criteria. There are three main types of distribution channel which can be used according to one's circumstances and the policy it is intended to adopt.

(1) The use of domestic distribution organizations.

(2) The use of overseas distributors.

(3) Selling direct to overseas customers.

One can engage in export trading without, as it were, getting one's feet wet. That is to say export business can be conducted solely through domestic channels and there is no necessity for the product manufacturer to involve himself in the problems of foreign currencies or the paraphernalia of export documentation and shipping arrangements.
