Short-listing of Applicants

The next stage of the recruiting process is the preparation of a short-list of applicants who will be invited to attend for interview. An examination of the returned application forms will enable a selection to be made of those applicants who A. will probably be suitable, B. who possibly will be suitable, but where some doubt exists, and C. who are not suitable and must be rejected. A letter should then be sent to each of the applicants who has been rejected. This letter should state that, after careful consideration, it is thought that the applicant's qualifications do not accord fully with the company's requirements and his application has not been successful.

A letter should be sent to those applicants who have been classified as probably or possibly acceptable asking them to attend for interview.
